Kurt Anderson – Vice President and General Manager
Kurt has been involved in design and project management of grade crossing safety projects for both Class 1 and shortline railroads across the country for over 28 years. He is familiar with MUTCD requirements as well as AREMA Recommended Practices and the Technical Working Group Guidance on Traffic Control at Highway-Railroad Grade Crossings. He also provided contributions to the development of the Railroad-Highway Grade Crossing Handbook – revised Second Edition 2007. Kurt is nationally recognized as an industry leader in the area of Railroad Quiet Zones. He has completed over 20 Quiet Zone studies and evaluations nationally. Kurt has worked closely with the Federal Railroad Administration in the development of the Train Horn Rule and was personally involved in reviewing and providing comments regarding the rules and regulations. Kurt’s extensive knowledge of the intricacies of Quiet Zone implementation has led him to give presentations at regional, national, and international Grade Crossing Safety Conferences. Kurt is past chairman of AREMA’s technical committee on grade crossings and a member of the Institute of Transportation Engineers Joint Committe on Highway Rail Grade Crossings.

Scott Booker, P.E. – Director of Public Projects
Scott has 21 years of experience in project management, traffic engineering, and highway-rail grade crossings. With 9 years of experience working as a Project Manager on hundreds of grade crossing safety projects across the country, Scott has extensive knowledge regarding the selection and placement of traffic control devices at highway-rail grade crossings. His 12 years of experience in traffic engineering and more specifically traffic signal design and operations provides Scott with a unique combination of experience that has led to his expertise in the area of railroad preemption of traffic signals. He has been involved in several projects to evaluate preemption of traffic signals near railroad crossings and make recommendations for improvements. Scott has also provided several training seminars across the country to traffic signal engineering and railroad signal engineering personnel on the subject of railroad preemption of traffic signals. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Transportation Engineers and is a registered Professional Engineer in the state of Texas.

Dan Fregia – Director of Transportation Design
Dan has over 12 years of experience in design of highway-rail grade crossing warning systems including field diagnostics, cost estimating, and detailed circuit design. Dan is a member of AREMA.
